Rules & disputes
A dare is a bounty for performing a specific act, not a wager, a prediction, or a way to harass someone. These rules protect creators, backers, and the platform.
What counts as a dare
A dare must describe a concrete, performable act. The outcome must be within the creator's direct control - not dependent on a third-party event.
- ▸Valid: do a specific physical stunt, sing a song, complete a challenge on stream.
- ▸Invalid: bet that a sports team wins, predict a price movement, wager on any external event.
- ▸Prediction-market and gambling framings are rejected before a dare is posted.
Off-limits content
- ▸Anything illegal in the jurisdiction of the creator or the platform.
- ▸Content that sexualises, harasses, or threatens a specific person.
- ▸Acts that could cause serious physical harm.
- ▸Private individuals who have not opted into the platform.
Dares that breach these rules are removed and backers are refunded. Repeat violations can result in wallet-level bans.
Consent model
A dare aimed at a creator is private and link-only until they claim it. The creator decides whether to engage. There is no pressure mechanism - the dare sits quietly until they act or the window expires.
- ▸Unclaimed dares are not searchable and not shown on the public board.
- ▸If the creator never claims, the dare expires and all backers are refunded.
- ▸The creator sets the floor and escalation tiers - the crowd cannot add obligations.
The dispute process
After a creator submits proof, a 3-day window opens. Any backer can raise a dispute during this window if they believe the proof does not match the dare.
- ▸Disputes are reviewed by the platform against the dare description and the platform rules.
- ▸If the dispute is upheld, the pot is returned to backers.
- ▸If the dispute is rejected, the pot releases to the creator.
- ▸The 3-day clock restarts if new proof is submitted following a rejected dispute (where applicable).
Platform void
The platform can void a dare at any stage if it violates the rules. In a void, all contributions are returned to backers and the dare is removed from the board.
