Fees
There is one platform fee, and it only applies when a dare actually pays out. Everything else is just the small network fee any onchain transaction carries.
The platform fee
When a dare completes and the pot is released to the creator, the platform takes 2.5% and the creator keeps 97.5%. That fee covers running the platform and moderation.
- ▸The fee applies once, at payout, on the total pot.
- ▸It is never taken from a refund - if a dare does not complete, backers get their full contribution back.
- ▸The fee rate is capped in the escrow contract and cannot be raised beyond that hard limit.
Network fees
Each onchain action - backing, claiming, submitting proof, withdrawing - carries a small network fee, paid in ETH and separate from the USDG you dare with. On this testnet app these are testnet ETH and typically fractions of a cent. Keep a small amount of testnet ETH in your wallet so your transactions confirm. See Set up your wallet.
What is free
- ▸Posting a dare costs nothing beyond the network fee.
- ▸Backing a dare has no platform fee - your full contribution goes into escrow.
- ▸Refunds are free - you get back exactly what you put in.
- ▸There is no minimum contribution and no subscription.
A worked example
Say fans pool 1,000 USDG behind a dare and the creator completes it. At payout, the platform fee is 25 USDG (2.5%) and the creator receives 975 USDG. If the same dare had failed to lock or the creator had missed the performance window, every backer would be refunded in full and no platform fee would be charged.
You only pay when it works
