I Dare You

For fans

You are funding a performance, not placing a bet. Best case the creator does it. Worst case you get refunded. You can never lose money to another backer.

Finding dares to back

Browse the Dares Board to see all public dares. Use the tabs to filter by Open (waiting for funding), Live (claimed and locked), or Done (resolved). Search by dare description or creator handle.

Backing a dare

Open a dare and use the fund panel on the dare page. You will need a wallet with USDG on Robinhood Chain testnet to back (plus a little ETH for gas), then enter an amount and confirm the transaction. Balances are test USDG with no real value.

  • Any amount is accepted - there is no minimum contribution.
  • Your contribution goes into onchain escrow immediately.
  • You can back the same dare multiple times.

Refunds

Your contribution is fully refundable until the dare locks. A dare locks when the creator claims it and the pot hits their floor. After that, the escrow is bound and refunds are not available until the dare resolves.

  • Refundable states: before the creator claims, or after they claim but before the pot hits the floor.
  • Not refundable: once the pot hits the floor and the dare is live.
  • If the creator never claims within the window, you are refunded automatically.
  • If the dare is disputed and the platform rules against the creator, you are refunded.

Stretch goals

Some creators set escalation tiers above their floor. Each tier shows what the creator will do if the pot reaches that amount. Fund past the floor to push toward the next tier - the creator is only bound to the tiers the pot actually hits.

Sharing a dare

Sharing the dare link is how creators find out they have been dared. Until a creator claims, the dare is not visible on the public board. If you want a specific creator to see it, send them the link directly.

Disputing proof

After a creator submits proof, there is a 3-day window to dispute. If the proof does not match the dare description, use the dispute button on the dare page. The platform will review the proof against the dare and rule.

  • Disputes are reviewed by the platform, not by other users.
  • If the dispute succeeds, backers are refunded.
  • If the dispute fails, the pot releases to the creator.
  • The platform does not guarantee quality of proof, only that it was submitted.

This is not gambling

You are backing a specific creative act, not betting on an outcome. The worst case is a refund. There is no mechanism for one backer to win another backer's funds.
