I Dare You

Set up your wallet

I Dare You holds money in onchain escrow, so you interact with it through a crypto wallet. You do not need to know anything about crypto to start - an embedded wallet is created for you when you sign in. This app runs on Robinhood Chain testnet, so balances are test tokens with no real value.

Getting a wallet

You have two ways to get set up:

  • Sign in and we create one for you. Log in with your email or Google account. A secure embedded self-custody wallet is created automatically and tied to your login. This is the easiest path if you are new to crypto.
  • Connect a wallet you already have. If you already use a self-custody wallet, connect it directly and use it across the app.

Either way, the wallet is yours. We never take custody of your funds or move them without a transaction you approve.

Funding your wallet with USDG

Dares are denominated in USDG, a US dollar stablecoin. On this testnet app the balance is test USDG (6 decimals) with no real value. To back a dare, or to receive a payout as a creator, your wallet needs test USDG in it.

  • Get test USDG onto Robinhood Chain testnet from the testnet faucet or by transferring it to the address the app shows for your wallet.
  • Network fees are paid separately in testnet ETH, not USDG (see below).
  • 1 USDG tracks roughly 1 US dollar, so amounts are easy to reason about - but on testnet it carries no real value.

Network fees

Every transaction that moves money onchain - backing a dare, claiming, submitting proof, withdrawing - carries a small network fee. This is paid in ETH, the chain's gas token, and goes to the network, not to us. It is separate from the USDG you dare with. On testnet these are testnet ETH and typically fractions of a cent, so keep a small amount of testnet ETH in your wallet and your transactions will go through.

This is separate from the platform fee, which only applies when a dare pays out. See Fees for the full breakdown.

You are ready

Once your wallet is funded, you can:

Keep your recovery safe

Your wallet is yours to control, which also means you are responsible for keeping your login and any recovery details safe. Nobody at I Dare You can move your funds for you, and nobody can recover a wallet you lose access to.
